Purple shirt with verticle lines are a nice back drop to the fluid flotal pattern on the tie.

Juice for Today

Today's juice consisted of Spinach, two small celery sticks, two Roma tomatoes, one orange, one quarter beet and carrots.  The key ratio that I like about this juice is that I did not over due it with adding one whole beet as this makes the juice too sweet for me.  I also did not over do it with the celery which makes the juice too tart for me.  The tomatoes balanced out the celery and the orange added just a hint of citrus.

Ecospace Prefab Garden Studios by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 06.24.06 DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE (prefab) We have shown a lot of small prefabs for home and country recently (like the BlueSkyMod, Modern Playshed and Deckhouse) but this building form was really developed in England, where people have been building gorgeous and elaborate garden sheds for years. Ecospace builds lovely modern ones, in collaboration with architects Idris-Perrineau Town. via Ecospace Prefab Garden Studios : TreeHugger .

Rain Warter storage tanks

Image
This is a nice image of a series of plastic containers that are being used for rain water harvesting.  these white tanks must be shielded from sunlight so that algae does not grow in the water. The black tanks can be stored anywhere since they store the water shielded from sunlight.  the black plastic is UV protected. The tanks are sold for about $130 each and hold between 250-300 gallons.

My personal struggle with my server

Image
I have been struggling with my Linux server as of late.  the problems have been focused on dirty power.  The home that I live in has had some power surges that have whacked the server and I have been struggling to get it back.  I have not had the funds to purchase an adequate UPS to prevent the power issues, so I am working through what I know is a solution. What i have learned is how to build Linux on a thumb drive on my Asus EccPC that is running Windows 7.  I have a hardware Intel® RAID Controller SRCSATAWB and I am glad that I had to rebuild my server because I was only using 4 of the 6 one terabyte drives.  When I rebuilt it this time I confurged the the array to RAID 6 using 6 drives for three terabytes of space.  the Scientific Linux 6.3 install went directly on the array no problem.

My neckties 20121009

This is my cowboy curly que tie. I made up this game at the start of the fall school year in 2012. The game was to wear all of my ties before repeating a day wearing a tie. I have one more tie to wear before I start over so this is a good time to document my ties in my blog.  I recently converted this blog from a Word Press blog hosted on Siteground since September 2003  Now at the start of 2013 I moved the blog to Blogger and I am editing the blog on mobile devises and taking pictures with a mobile phone.  I am also using the integration with Picasa and Google+ to publish and link my post to my social communities. When I started this blog in 2003 I had a Canon EOS 10D, a . Mega pixel camera. I used public WiFi in Austin Texas to write and publish my posts.  Now in 2013 I write and published where ever I am using mobile WiFi and 4GLTE provided by Verizon  I take pictures8 mega pixel images with a mobile phone and they are automatically uploaded to my Picasa album in the Google

Why ride as fast as I can?

Sometimes I really try to slow down on my bike commute. Today when I rode to work I knew that my morning ride is always faster than my evening ride. I averaged 29 KM per hour. This evening I had a slight tailwind from the east so my ride west was really fast. I normally ride in my big chain ring which has 52 teeth and my number 7 chain ring which has 14 teeth. When I got to about 10 KM I dropped into my 8 chain ring which has 13 teeth and I rode at speeds that topped 35 KM per hour. I was amazed to be riding that fast and I was riding that fast, but I was comfortable with my breathing and my legs did not feel strained. So when I ride like that my goal is to be able to ride like a class B cyclist. Here is a link to the cycling classes. I was riding at the class B level when I was in my mid 40s in Portland Oregon  Now that I am in my 60s and living in the flat lands of SW Georgia I thought I was going to resign myself to just being a class C cyclist.  Now I can see a path for me to rega
