Wheels of Soul Tour

Image
I went to the Wheels of Soul Tour to see the Tedeschi Trucks Band , Los Lobos and the North Mississippi All Stars.  I loved the concert.  There were a few surprises during the concert.  I loved the fact that the Tedeschi Trucks Band joined Los Lobos for their final song as a combined band.  they really played a funky song. Here is a review of the concert from Jam Bands Tedeschi Trucks Band got some help from a few familiar faces last night in Alpharetta, GA as their Wheels of Soul tour rolled on. Among them, Col. Bruce Hampton and Luther Dickinson, who came out early on for the blues standard “Spoonful” before Hampton exited, leaving Dickinson out with the band for another blues classic “Leaving Trunk” as well as TTB’s own “Midnight in Harlem.” From there, Widespread Panic guitarist (and Hampton’s Aquarium Rescue Unit bandmate) Jimmy Herring joined the fold as he and Derek Trucks teamed up for “I Want More” before Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo, Steve Berlin and Dickinson’s brother Cod

Day Two Work Shop Bench With Sink

Image
I finished the first shop bench on Sunday.  I did some plumbing hacking and added a hose bib on the sink so that I could attach a hose for a sprayer.  I usually attach a longer hose to this sink to wash my bike so adding an extra connection for a hose will free up the regular faucet. I removed the legs on the old sink and mounted it in the 2 x 4 framing before adding the 1/2 inch plywood top.   I will paint and seal it later. This is the first time that I have used a Kreg Jig Pocket-Hole Machinery for a project.  I have been watching DIY wood workers on YouTube for a few years using this tool and I finally bought one.  I used it to put in the sink supports and a top support after shoving the frame into the location which was really snug.  Having the ability to secure the 2 x 4 from the inside with the pocket hole drill was cool.

Flying the flag of the United States of America

Image
I finally got to a nice bracket for my large United States of America flag. This flag was draped over the coffin of my dad who was laid to rest in 2004 in the military cemetery in Riverside California. My dad was in the Air Force. Happy Fourth of July 2016
