and server administers in the world.
I wanted to share some good news about the place that consumes the better part of the day during the week for me.  I work at ASU, not Arizona State University, but Albany State University, home of the Golden Rams in Albany, GA.  If we meet in person I will tell you the back story of why ASU is so important to this tale over a Guinness.

Anyway ASU is now featured on the Meraki Cisco web site. There is a Case Study about ASU written on the Customer Stories page.  We are among good company on this page as ASU is listed with MIT and Stanford University among others.

My other reason for writing this posting is to make some noise about my friend and co-worker +Noore Ghunaym.  Most of the time he likes to cut up and be silly, but when it comes to networks, servers and hard drive arrays, this man can do some amazing things.

Georgia on my mind

Texas was not deep enough in the south for me so I relocated to Albany, Georgia. I have been her almost a month and the adventure of living in a new city and working at a new institution are still fresh. This week week as I walked across the campus with my paper notebook in hand I was whistling as I passed through groups of students go to classes. I noticed how everyone of them was either talking on a mobile device or listening to music on them. I marveled at how odd I must seem to them as I walked without having any electronic device turned on and instead i was making the music with my lips. Albany Georgia is a lot like Portland, only smaller and really flat. Albany has the Flint River running through the middle of the downtown area and lots of pine and pecan trees all over.

PHP Web Store

Well finally I have made progress on one of my goals. I have been working on learning PHP and have created my first eCommerce web store. If you want to check it out it is located here . I am going to add artwork to this store and I hope to generate some income from it. One thing for sure is that I'm learning how to create dynamic web pages using PHP and a MySQL database.
